A safe repair needs to restore the tyre's ability to hold air and operate reliably under load, through braking, cornering and highway speeds. Tyre age and tread depth also matter. If the tread is worn close to the legal limit, replacement is often better value than paying for a repair and then needing tyres again soon after.
